From « Bleu d’Auvergne » cheese to soap and “homemade” Coke, you’ll find anything you need at “De l’autre côté de la rue” !
As soon as we arrived, the musical greeting charmed us. “Sugar Man” from Rodriguez was playing in the store (for the purists).
Followed by a very friendly contact with the owners, cause here, being kind is a must.
You’ll find a large choice of organic and local products, organic wine, dry products such as rice, lentils and chickpeas, cleaning products or cosmetics. Also farm products (meat, poultry, delicatessen and cheeses. Discounts are available on the products where the expiration date is near to the end.
The grocery offers also diverse organic breads where the farm where it comes from is written above the product (one baker per day of the week).
We appreciate the transparency about the origin of the fresh products : the address of the farm is mentionned on the packaging of the products.
For the most courageous of you, this winter time you may want to grab an organic fresh beer and appreciate it outside by own or with a friend.
« De l’autre côté de la rue » distributes in Lyon alimentary products, house products, local and organic products from short perimeter supliers since 11 years.
In the beginning, the store had the goal to show that a short circuit of distribution is fair for everyone and is economically viable.
The objective was of course a success. Today their goal is to push further by reduce their impact on the environment with a different way to ship their product.
It’s why the store is planning to own an electric bike with a case to replace their old Renault Trafic. Of course their energy is clean as well as it comes from Enercoop their supplier !
The word of the end : Instead of offering you a large choice of local products from local farmers and organic food “De l’autre côté de la rue” offers you a very pleasant store so no excuses ! It’s open till 9 p.m.
